This type of data analysis and interpretation is critical in almost every discipline, from the humanities to STEM fields. Additionally, the critical thinking and problems solving skills developed can be applied anywhere.  This workshop will introduce you to spatial thinking and cognition, with an emphasis on collaborative problem-solving, using open source and free online tools.

Upon successful completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Describe potential applications of GIS to your discipline

  • Use GIS tools to capture, analyze, and present data from your discipline
