Sloan-C Honors Effective Practices in Online and Blended Education

2011 Effective Practice Awards to be presented Nov. 11 at the 17th Annual International Conference on Online Learning in Orlando
NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (Oct. 18, 2011)— The Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C), an association of individuals, institutions and organizations of higher education committed to quality online education, will present its 2011 Effective Practice Awards at the 17th Annual Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning on November 11, 2011, in Orlando, Florida.
These practices were selected for recognition because they provide evidence of innovation and replicability. The practices advance the goals of access, learning effectiveness, faculty and student satisfaction and scalability.
The 2011 Effective Practice Award winners are:

· Continual Reinforcement and Practice Enhance Learner Success, by Jen Krueger and Kolleen Barnes, Cuyahoga Community College
· Open Content and Courses: Food Safety Resources for Developing Countries, by Karen Vignare, Gwyn Shelle, Sunnie Kim, Deepa Thiagarajan, Leslie Bourquin, Michigan State University
· UCF's Online Faculty Readiness Assessment, by Tom B. Cavanagh, University of Central Florida
