George Vukovich, BA

George Vukovich is the Associate Vice President of Strategic Relations, Veteran’s and Related Communities for the American Military University. George is a retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant with 20 years of service as an infantry Staff Non-Commissioned Officer. One of the highlights of his career was selection to the highly competitive SNCO Degree Completion Program. While assigned to the program, George completed undergraduate degree requirements with the Virginia Commonwealth University. Upon degree completion, he was assigned to Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia where he served as the SNCOIC of the base education center.

George accepted a position as Director of Military Outreach for the American Military University after retiring from the Corps. He served in this capacity from 2002-2012 and transitioned to the Veteran’s community, at AMU, and immediately developed and implemented a Virtual Veteran’s Center to assist university veteran’s with classroom and life enhancing opportunities.

During 2009, George was elected President of the Virginia Advisory Council for Military Education (VA-ACME) and held this position until 2011. He had also served as Vice President, and Planning Committee Chair to the council in previous years. George was selected as liaison between DoD and all state advisory councils to the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) during 2012 and Awards committee chair 2012-2013.
