The 2016 Class of Online Learning Consortium Fellows

Two OLC members recognized for exceptional contributions to the field of online learning.

Recognizing unusual professional distinction, the OLC Board of Directors confers the distinction of OLC Fellow upon individual members of the Online Learning Consortium who have:

  • Outstanding and extraordinary qualifications in the field of online learning;
  • Significant experience in online learning or an allied field;
  • A record of distinguished service to the Online Learning Consortium or the field; and
  • Extraordinary contributions or leadership in the field of online learning.

The members of the 2016 Class of OLC Fellows have contributed to advancing quality, scale and breadth in online and blended education in areas represented by the OLC Pillars of learning effectiveness, access, faculty and student satisfaction, and scale. The new OLC Fellows were recognized at OLC Accelerate 2016 in Orlando, FL, on November 16-18, 2016.

The 2016 OLC Fellows are:

  • Jennifer Richardson, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Learning Design and Technology, Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University
  • Robbie Melton, Ph.D., Associate Vice Chancellor of eLearning, Mobilization and Emerging Technologies for the Tennessee Board of Regents

Dr. Richardson was nominated by OLC Fellow Phil Ice, Ed.D., Chief Learning Officer, Mirum, for her significant contributions to the areas of scholarship, teaching and service.

Dr. Robbie Melton was nominated by OLC Fellow John Bourne, Ph.D., Editor-in-Chief, International Journal on Innovations in Online Education, for her leadership, advocacy, passion and generosity of time and talent in the promotion of the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.
