Extended Abstract

This panel will provide a brief overview of lessons learned from moving a traditional, pre-licensure nursing program to an online only model for the didactic content. We will first take the audience through our journey from pre-created, online courses and low student satisfaction to our current state of living online courses and increasing student satisfaction and improved outcomes. We will then engage the audience in discussions about what components of traditional classroom learning are most effective in engaging students and strategies for bringing this feeling online. This will include how to bring a strong faculty presence to students in an online program, responding to student feedback, and technological tools we have explored. Through audience engagement we will apply the lessons we have learned in a specific program to the concept of online learning in general.
