Brief Abstract
Online teaching and learning (OTL) is promoted at many universities in a variety of ways. This session describes the development of an office of digital teaching and learning to include the addition of a faculty fellow who serves the department and University in several ways. The roles, responsibilities, and activities of a faculty fellow are presented along with initial outcomes. How does the faculty fellow and office of digital learning connect and collaborate with fellow faculty members and administrators to specifically promote OTL practices? Examples are provided.

This session describes the development of an office of digital teaching and learning to include the addition of a faculty fellow who serves the department and University in several ways. The roles, responsibilities, and activities of a faculty fellow are presented along with initial outcomes. How does the faculty fellow and office of digital learning connect and collaborate with fellow faculty members and administrators to specifically promote OTL practices? Examples of roles, responsibilities, and activities associated with the newly launched OTL Faculty Fellow include:
1. Implementation of evidence-based OTL pedagogy practices
2. Building a community of practice
3. Promoting a culture of innovation
4. Contributiing to the scholarship of OTL
5. Department Consultations for blended and online curricula development
6. Individual Consultations for blended and online curricula development
7. Provision of Digital Teaching and Learning Skills Classes
8. Promotion of Digital Teaching and Learning on and off campus
The Interactive Session will:
1. Present concrete process mechanisms for this role including challenges
2. Demonstrate innovative faculty development projects
3. Share emerging quantitative and qualitative results
4. Arrive at best practices that are replicable in other institutions
