Brief Abstract

How do we empower students to take part in institutional innovation and change? In this session you will hear from a student and a recent graduate who have been involved in our Davidson Now initiative. They will be talking about how their involvement in this process has influenced their learning, professional development, and view of the institution.


As the Assistant Director for Digital Learning, Sundi leads a joint team of technologists and librarians who promote student and faculty digital agility and the integration of new and emerging technologies in teaching, learning, and scholarship at Davidson College. Interested in empowering students to be active citizens in their online and offline worlds, Sundi works to explore digital identity and is part of an ongoing conversation in higher ed about digital citizenship #digciz.
Annie Sadler is the Digital Learning Fellow at Davidson. A recent graduate of Davidson College, Annie works on variety of projects related to digital learning. She is responsible for the operations of all DavidsonX, Davidson Next, and Davidson Now courses. She loves the outdoors and working with grassroots movements.
Arianna Montero-Colbert is a student, programmer, and organizer committed to advancing the accessibility of critical theory through digital education projects. Her most recent academic projects involve investigations into the criminalization of student dissent, the intersection of climate change and migration, and the politics of language in our digital future. Since the fall of 2016, Arianna has worked on instructional design, content curation, and course facilitation at TechChange.

Extended Abstract
