Brief Abstract

Learn how to use video as a teaching strategy. The University of Nebraska’s Director of Academic Technology, Jane Petersen, addresses the challenges that can prevent educators from leveraging video, and shows how she uses VidGrid to increase student engagement with interactive video.

Presenters

Jane is the Director, Academic Technology and Client Services at the University of Nebraska Kearney. Jane is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of Academic Technology and Client Services initiatives and programs. She is also an online adjunct instructor in which she engages students to share their stories and learning experiences with video. Over the past three years, Jane has led the Open Educational Resource program at UNK. Jane was an author in the NBEA (National Business Education Association) Yearbook 2016 “Teaching Business with iPads” and is an Apple Distinguished Educator. An important aspect of her life is family – her husband, three children, three grandchildren and her gentle giant, a Pyrenean Mastiff.
Danny Lindsey has a passion for people. Inspired by traveling the globe and experiencing new cultures, his adventures have led him through higher education, corporate America, and now a tech startup. Danny's expertise revolves around empowering all educators to leverage the power of video in communicating knowledge visually.
