OLC QS Endorsement Process

Phase 1:  Begin completing Interactive QS

  • Submit Intent to Complete endorsement process and application fee
  • Once Intent to Complete is accepted, institution notified with letter and confirmation of approval to use logo
  • Create logo – initial applicant
  • Must complete process within 12 months of approval or restart

Phase 2:  Institution completes interactive QS

  • Submit QS for review 
  • Peer review team completes evaluation

Phase 3:  Review completed and institution provided final score and feedback

  • Institution scores 156 or less remains on initial endorsement review granted Continued Initial Approval for up to 12 months  (see Continued Initial Applicant below for additional steps)
  • Institution scores 157 to 179 granted conditional approval for a period of 18 months from approval.  Must provide plan for completing needed improvement actions (See Conditional Approval steps below).
  • Institution scores 180 or higher granted seal verifying endorsement for period of 2 years from initial endorsement
  • Institution score 202 or higher granted additional seal verifying exemplary program (endorsed for period of 3-years)
  • Institutional membership must be maintained to continue use of seal

Continued Initial Applicant (Valid for 12-months)

  • Institution identifies action plan for improvement and submits to OLC
  • Within 9 months, Institution must provide updates to Interactive QS to reflect improvements and resubmit for review
  • Scoring reviewed per Phase 3
  • Institutions scoring 156 or less after second review denied endorsement.  Must wait 6  months before starting process over (Phase 1).

Conditional Approval (Valid for 18-months)

  • Institution identifies action plans for improvement and submits to OLC
  • Within 15-months, Institution must provide updates to Interactive QS to reflect improvements and resubmit for review
  • Scoring reviewed per Phase 3
  • Institutions scoring 156 or less during this review denied endorsement.  Must wait 6 months before starting process over (Phase 1).
  • Institution scores 157 to 179 can remain on Conditional Approval for additional 18 months (total of 36-months on Conditional Approval).  If after 36-months on conditional approval, institution unable to exceed score of 180 then will lose approval.

Re-endorsement Process

Phase 1: 6-months prior to expiration of endorsement

  • Institution receives notification of expiration

Phase 2:  Institution provides updated information in Interactive Scorecard

  • Submits for review
  • Peer review team completes evaluation

Phase 3:  Review completed and institution provided final score and feedback

  • Institution scores 179 or less placed on probation (see process below).
  • Institution scores 180 or higher granted seal verifying endorsement for period of 2 years from initial endorsement
  • Institution score 202 or higher granted additional seal verifying exemplary program (endorsed for period of 3-years)
  • Institutional membership must be maintained to continue use of seal

Institution placed on probation will follow either the process for Continued Initial Approval (score of 156 or less) or Conditional Approval (score of 157 to 179).  Probation period cannot exceed 36-months.
