Mastery Series iconThe Leadership in Online Learning Mastery Series focuses on organizational structure, policy, and common funding models related to online learning programming at the institutional level. Through a series of modules, you will explore topics relevant to online administrators, using evidence-based research into best practices to help you establish and stabilize strategic, manageable growth of online learning initiatives within your institution while maintaining a competitive edge.

This Mastery Series program is aimed at online learning professionals who wish to sharpen their leadership skills or are interested in taking on a leadership role. The OLC Mastery Series Program emphasizes the theory and application of research on key topics and culminates in a Recognition of Mastery in a topic. Each series consists of three week-long modules that help you explore relevant research and use that research to help you design an effective teaching and learning environment. Successful participants of a Mastery Series program will receive a PDF certificate of completion, as well as a digital badge of completion via Acclaim. Learn More

OLC Leadership Network Event

OLC Accelerate 2021 – National Harbor, MD

LEADERSHIP NETWORK - ONLINE LEARNING CONSORTIUM and INSIDE HIGHER EDInstitutional leaders are challenged with making decisions in an increasingly complex and changing higher education landscape, from evolving federal policies and regulations governing online education to the development of partnerships with private and public entities. Many of these are impacted by an institution’s ability to make data-informed decisions and to report on accountability measures. The Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL)

2021 Global Cohort

IELOL Global began as a pilot in 2020 with a selective class of 28 participants from 8 countries. Due to the success and impact of the pilot, IELOL Global will now formally continue as an established offering from the OLC. Each year, the program will convene with the outcome of forging meaningful connections within a community of global changemakers as they work collectively to identify challenges and opportunities in online, digital, and blended learning. Up to 50 participants will be selected to answer specific challenges around digital learning leadership across global and local contexts, including strategies and operations for ensuring equitable and inclusive access to education. 2021 Cohort

The Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) is a unique blended-learning leadership development program sponsored by the Online Learning Consortium and in partnership with Arizona State University for the 2021 cohort. Coming up on its 13th year, IELOL serves the development needs of emerging leaders responsible for a variety of digital learning initiatives in higher education. IELOL participants work with colleagues from around the world to explore and understand both the opportunities and barriers to advancing local and global online learning. Program graduates join a growing network of online leaders in higher education focused on improving and advancing the impact of digital learning on all aspects and formats of education. The OLC Research Center for Digital Learning and Leadership

The mission of The OLC Research Center for Digital Learning and Leadership is to transform teaching and learning in the digital learning landscape through the dissemination of research throughout the field. In collaboration with the OLC community, the Research Center seeks to further knowledge of the field, create collaborative networks among like-minded professionals who share similar knowledge bases, and to provide original, evidence-based, and theoretical–based research. The purpose of The Research Center is to provide resources for researchers and practitioners who seek resources on topics related to digital learning trends, innovations, and effective practices in the field.

Resources include research studies, white papers, journal articles, and other resources including webinars, podcasts, and publications are categorized into six different categories: Teaching & Learning, Instructional/Learning Design, Leadership, Digital Learning, Annual Reports, and Quality.
