Online Learning Consortium receives $2.5 M from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
Academica Group | October 15, 2015 The US-based Online Learning Consortium (OLC) has received a $2.5 M grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to enhance practices in postsecondary digital learning. The focus of the grant will fall primarily on improving outcomes for traditionally underserviced students. Funds will be used to support pedagogical research and the adoption of next-generation digital courseware. Representatives from the OLC have said that one of the organization’s primary aims is to enhance online learning experiences in order to close the ever-widening education gap between America’s wealthiest and poorest students.
