Extended Abstract

BigBlueButton is an open source web conferencing system with deep integrations to Canvas, D2L, Jenzabar, Moodle, Sakai, and Schoology. BigBlueButton enables instructors to effectively engage and teach remote students through real-time sharing of audio, video, slides, chat, desktop, emoji, and polls. The sessions are recorded for later playback within the LMS.

The project has been working on creating an HTML5 client to enable remote students to join a BigBlueButton session from their mobile device.

We’ll be showing the latest builds of the HTML5 client running on both Android and iOS devices.

Come out to the session! Bring your phone and we can try a live demo with the audience. Also, an open source project, we welcome feedback from the community on direction and priorities!
