Finding appropriate OER isn't easy.  We can help!  Joining MERLOT is step #1.  Becoming a MERLOT peer reviewer is a giant leap into discovering quality materials for your classroom.  MERLOT offers a tutorial for peer reviewing and editors who will guide and support you in developing your reviewing skills.

Jane Moore is the Director of MERLOT Editorial and Professional Development Services. She also serves as Editor for MERLOT's Teacher Education Board. Jane has taught online since 2002, and after 27 years in the elementary classroom and 16 years in higher education full time, has embraced online learning with a great deal of enthusiasm.

Finding appropriate OER and utilizing it in the classroom isn't easy.  We can help!  Joining MERLOT is step #1.  Becoming a MERLOT peer reviewer is a giant leap into discovering appropriate quality materials for use in your classroom.  MERLOT offers a tutorial for peer reviewing as well as over 20 editors who will guide and support you in developing your reviewing skills.  Peer reviewing can be an item on your CV, an opportunity for professional advancement, and a chance to connect with other educators in your discipline.  There are perks:  reviewers who complete 15 or more reviews and submit 5 or more materials to MERLOT can receive free registration at Innovate conferences.  Monthly drawings for gift cards are another incentive for peer reviewers.  But, the best perk is the opportunity to view and review materials that support both your teaching and your students' learning.  Join us!
