Brief Abstract

The use of video has become integral to many disciplines and is increasingly accessible. This session will provide the tools and techniques to optimize deployment.

Presenters

Mr. Wetsch is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Memorial University of Newfoundland. With over 200presentations and publications in the past 10 years, his research has been published in several journals including; Marketing Education Review, the Journal of Advertising Education, the Journal of Relationship Marketing and the International Journal of Electronic Marketing and Retailing and others. He hold the Chair in Teaching and Learning at the Faculty of Business as well as being the 2015 President's Award for Distinguished Teaching. He has also been recognized by the Marketing Management Association 2013 Hormel Master Teacher. He is actively involved in providing presentations and consulting with businesses on various elements of Internet Marketing, especially Social Media and Social Networks through his company ‘Digital Marketing Consultants’. He has assisted businesses and organizations with the development, design and implementation of their Social and Digital Media Strategies as well as serving on several advisory boards. Through the Gardiner Centre at the Faculty of Business Administration he has designed and offers 1-day and multi-day training programs on Digital and Social Media at several locations in North America as part of the Digital and Social Media Program including: Digital and Social Media Strategy & Tactics, Digital Communication & Advertising, Metrics, Measurement & Analytics and many industry and occupational programs. The use of video has become integral to many disciplines and is increasingly accessible. This session will provide the tools and techniques to optimize deployment. It has become easier and less expensive than ever before with most phones and tablets capable of hi-definition recording. This session will provide interactive training on how to optimize your videos through video editing tools, YouTube optimization and editing, and interactive branding elements. With every Internet user in the world watching 24 minutes of YouTube video per day, video is becoming an increasingly powerful tool for engaging your students. Synchronous live streaming tools and asynchronous recorded videos will be discussed and the appropriate circumstances for their utilization will be covered.

By the end of this session, attendees can expect:

3)The ability to use YouTube to edit and optimize videos
4)The ability to add interactive elements to your videos to enhance engagement
