Is Virtual a Reality for Online Lab Courses?
Concurrent Session 9
Learn how different institutions are using VR to advance the student experience and student success.
To date, it has been challenging to satisfy the lab requirements for high-demand degrees in STEM and sciences given the limitations of 2D delivery mechanisms. Can virtual reality hardware and high-quality 3D online labs unlock the potential for graduating more prepared science and medical professionals? Learn how different institutions are using VR to advance the student experience and student success in STEM and beyond. Arizona State University is using VR to deliver the first fully accredited 100% online biology degree, and Cochise Community College goes beyond science to also use VR in Arts and Humanities. Learn about the benefits and appropriate use of VR, including practical deployment strategies for managing the hardware and instruction across your campus. Participants will also have an opportunity to see VR content in 3D.
