Lead Presenter: Arie Sowers, Respondus

Arie is a Senior Product Specialist with Respondus Inc. and has extensive experience in the educational technology space. She has been with Respondus for more than 12 years, working with administrators and instructors to develop training and rollout strategies for elearning technologies. Arie has taught and designed learning programs in both K12 and higher education, and was previously in marketing for an LMS company as well.

Co-presenter: Erin Thornbury, Respondus

Erin Thornbury, Customer Success & Training Manager with Respondus, works with institutions around the World to support the implementation of assessment technologies that help ensure academic integrity. Erin provides resources, updates on product features and training, and best practices for the adoption of Respondus applications, including LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor.  Previously a Director of eLearning and an instructional designer, Erin has worked in faculty development within Higher Education for over 8 years. Over the course of her career, Erin has engaged with hundreds of instructors looking to incorporate technology that supports teaching and learning online.

Extended Abstract

This session begins with an overview of LockDown Browser (a custom browser that locks down a computer during online exams) and Respondus Monitor (a fully-automated proctoring system).

We’ll discuss new integrations and settings that allow for test integrity in a variety of testing scenarios. Keys to success will be covered, including training resources for instructors, and 24/7 live chat support for students. We'll also discuss security, privacy concerns, scalability, and licensing/pricing options.

These applications integrate with leading LMS including Canvas, Blackboard Learn (original and Ultra), Brightspace, and Moodle, as well as leading publisher platforms including MyLab and ALEKS.
