Extended Abstract

BigBlueButton is an open source virtual classroom built by a global community of teachers and developers. BigBlueButton is built into Moodle Cloud, Canvas, Schoology, Sakai, and D2L as the default virtual classroom. What's more, because it's open source, it was adopted by many schools world-wide during the Covid-19 pandemic. This presentation showcases examples of that adoption, how it helped teachers and students hold effective online classes, and some of the features we've got planned on the road map for 2021. The BigBlueButton project is managed by Blindside Networks.
