Date: June 15-24 2020
Location: Zoom Virtual Platform

All 105 historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States are invited to join us and learn from so many brilliant minds at the HBCU Affordable Learning Solutions (AL$) Summit, featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Michael L. Torrence, the President of Motlow State Community College. You’ll also catch (AL$) superstar Drs. Moustapha Diack, Karen N. Nichols, Robbie Melton, and Gerry Hanley.

The Southern University System (SUS), the HBCUs AL$ Research Network, the California State University, and MERLOT will share practices, strategies, and resources for reducing the costs of instructional materials for students, making higher education more affordable for more students in Historically Black Universities (HBCUs) in the United States, as well as in Higher Education Institutions in Africa and across the globe. Leaders from Southern University System (SUS) of Louisiana, Tennessee State University, and California State University/MERLOT will facilitate a series of leadership sessions, strategic planning, and hands-on workshops that will be embedded in the annual OLC Innovate Virtual Conference co-sponsored by the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) and MERLOT.

Join us to get answers to these questions:

  • How do I find free and open educational resources?
  • How do I support faculty adopting free and open educational resources?
  • How can I design and deploy my own Affordable Learning Solutions program?
  • How can I support the institutionalization of quality online hybrid education?

Bonus! The HBCU Summit is included in the cost of registration for OLC Innovate 2020. The conference is designed with exciting tracks including presentations by national experts on:

  • Effective Tools, Toys, and Technologies
  • Leadership and Advocacy
  • Processes, Problems, and Practices
  • Open Learning
  • Research: Designs, Methods, and Findings
