Overview  | Call for Proposals  | Schedule  |  How to Attend  |  Sponsors

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite K12 educators and administrators to join us in Denver, CO, April 10 – 13, 2024, as we explore important topics focused on online, blended and digital learning. This unique opportunity will give you time to learn, collaborate and network with peers at our first ever OLC K12 Education Symposium.

Our planning committee has busy working on through all of the great plans we have for this event, including our theme – Beyond the Classroom: Unleashing the Future of Online Education. This theme works with the idea that K-12 online education is now moving beyond the emergency response that took place during the pandemic and delving into the innovative and transformative potential of online learning. We would encourage sessions and participants to explore ideas that are mentioned below, along with pedagogical shifts due to AI and strategies for creating an effective and engaging online learning community, including exploring how collaboration and networks can be built between online schools.  The emphasis is on not just having schools adapt to the digital space but actively shaping how online education works to maximize student learning, enjoyment and success.

Our symposium attendees will share their knowledge and experiences in the following tracks:

  • AI & Ed Tech: This track explores the cutting-edge technologies and innovations that are shaping the future of online, blended, and classroom education. It invites educators to share novel methods, tools, and insights that can enhance student engagement, personalize instruction, and foster creative learning environments.
  • Course Design & Curriculum Planning: This track invites proposals that explore cutting-edge approaches to learning design, curriculum development, and teaching in online and blended environments. This track embraces inclusivity, collaboration, engagement, and the pursuit of digital literacies. We welcome educators, designers, and facilitators dedicated to enhancing the learning experience through creativity, equity, and strategic integration.
  • Community Building: This track is for proposals specific to providing student and parent support (including for English Language Learners) specifically when working with online, blended or digital learning. Topics may also focus on how we as educators support and build our community.
  • Closing the Gap: A lot has happened since COVID and this track is designed to explore topics on how we continue to close the gap in learning and development since that time. We invite proposals that showcase research, innovative approaches, or other experiences that help educators support their students.

We hope you will join us for our first K12 Symposium which promises to be an engaging experience, features a keynote address and numerous networking opportunities. Don’t miss out on this event, where you can connect with educators from around the world and gain valuable insights into critical topics. We look forward to seeing you there!

Warm regards,
