One cannot go a day without hearing shocking facts on the current and future state of the workforce. In her latest book, Long Life Learning, Michele Weiss states that the trajectory is for many employees to live close to 100, therefore extending their career trajectories well into the years that used to be spent in retirement. Coupled with automation and the ever present need for skills bursts and horizontal learning, online centric institutions have the spotlight shining on them to not only help adult learners achieve their educational goals, but to upskill and reskill the workforce. How are institutions pivoting to account for skills-oriented learning? Is it an institution’s responsibility to do so? These are among the questions we aim to discuss at this OLC Accelerate Leadership Event: The Future of the Workforce in October.

Program Spotlight

  • Hear from a variety of stakeholders on the current and future state of the workforce
  • Engage in collaborative breakout sessions with peers around both the challenges and opportunities in designing for the next generation learner
