OLC Innovate is a great place to gather in the evenings to share stories with old friends and new. This year, we’re bringing back our Evening Campfire Gatherings to bring people together over games, music, and impactful change.

Join us at the Gaylord Rockies each evening (Tuesday, Wednesday; 9-10pm) for Campfire Gatherings. After the days events (and with ample time for you to go grab dinner first), we will be hosting themed get-togethers as a venue to meet with friends, start up new collaborations, or just unwind from a day packed with innovative ideas.
Location: Ski Village in the Grand Lodge (off the Main Lobby), 9:00pm – 10:00pm
We’ll roll out the twenty-sided dice, shuffle the decks, and calibrate the joysticks for a night of games. Whether you’re new to role playing games or the best card player at your institution, we’ll have a game for you. You’re invited to bring your favorite games for all to enjoy. In particular, some attendees plan to bring their Switch consoles to play multiplayer video games in community.
Snacks and beverages will be available to fuel your competitive and cooperative nature. Join us for an evening to unwind, gather by the firepit with a drink from our hot chocolate bar (or purchase an adult beverage from the bar right there in our game area), and build relationships with some of the best people around!
The Ski Village is in the Grand Lodge, which is the large A-framed atrium just below the hotel main lobby. The Ski Village is on the right side of the Grand Lodge close to the large windows.

We’re celebrating Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Advocacy at this special event featuring music, dancing, and a costume competition. Bring your colleagues to enjoy a fun evening and to support advocacy for equity in our field. There will be prizes awarded for wittiest t-shirt, best costume of a historical woman, best just-in-time costume (made at the event), and best group costume.
There is a $35 required donation to attend the celebration, which includes one drink ticket and a dessert reception. The ticket fees collected will go towards the OLC IDEA Leadership in Digital Learning scholarship fund. Add a ticket to your conference registration to attend Wednesday evening’s Campfire Gathering.

How to modify your registration
Can’t make it to the IDEA Night? You are more than welcome to donate to the OLC IDEA Leadership in Digital Learning scholarship fund. The scholarship is presented at OLC Accelerate 2019 (November 20-22) in Orlando. The winner receives a complimentary conference registration, 2 nights hotel at the Swan/Dolphin, a ticket to the Women in Digital Learning Leadership luncheon, and a commemorative plaque for their award. If you want to get a taste of Denver outside of the Gaylord Rockies, the engagement team will be venturing to Stanley Marketplace on Thursday evening to explore over 50 dining, bar, and retail options close to downtown Denver. It’s a short commute from the Gaylord (22 minutes and approx $35 per rideshare round trip for groups) to explore this unique venue. You can also take the Gaylord shuttle to the nearby train station and take the train to downtown Denver. Look for the OLC buttons and say hello to colleagues on a night on the town.

Does the thought of going out on the town or hanging at a hotel bar after the end of two long conference days leave you cold? Come hang with the exhausted people and join us for our brand new Innovate Movie Night. Relax and unwind while snacking on popcorn, candy and soda.
