Moving Mountains in Digital, Blended, and Online Learning

Welcome to year FOUR of the OLC Innovate conference, in partnership with MERLOT!

As the Nashville dust settles on our line-dancing boots and as we continue to ideate and implement new initiatives, practices and iterations, we shift our focus toward the Rocky Mountains for #OLCInnovate 2019, to be held April 2-5, 2019 at the brand new Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center. This year continues to build on the inspiration and hard work of previous years, with an ever evolving list of tracks, session types, activities and opportunities to engage with each other as we gather to share ideas, connect and form bonds with colleagues.

#OLCInnovate is a gathering of ideas, minds, and hearts. Practitioners, researchers, instructors, administrators, dreamers, makers, movers-and-shakers: let’s congregate, share, collaborate, and together we can move mountains. Whether you are in a small shop of one, or a ginormous group of groups, we are better together.

Whether your jam is cutting edge edtech technology and tools for teaching and learning, openness in education, lifelong learning, creating accessible and inclusive learning experiences, advocacy in higher education, research design and findings, or any of the various ways you can manage change and push boundaries, we want to connect you with others who share your interests and have ideas that will energize you!

We encourage you to get involved early and make this a blended conference. Whether this is your first or fourth #OLCInnovate, we invite you to engage and share. Please submit CFP proposals, sign up for the OLC Ranger program, and join the Slack team to communicate with fellow attendees prior to, during, and after the conference. In so doing, you will have ample opportunity to form lasting connections, share ideas and receive feedback, and make the most out of your #OLCInnovate experience.

Because we’re set in Colorado, we can’t help but think of themes connected to the Rockies, and we’re particularly inspired by the idea of moving mountains. But what occurs to us, especially in the spirit of #OLCInnovate, is that none of us can or should be expected to do this by ourselves or solely in our own spheres of influence. Rather, we embrace perhaps the central idea inherent to education: that we learn with and from one another. And so it is with moving mountains: we move them together.

As you join us in Denver in April, and as you come into our virtual community leading up to April 2-5, 2019, we hope you’ll bring your energy, your ideas, your problems of practice, and your whole self as we strive to move mountains. Together.
