This inspiring presentation with Amanda Bickerstaff of AI for Education explores the transformative role of Generative AI (GenAI) in education. Participants will learn about AI’s prevalence in our day-to-day existence and how its rapid advancements are transforming our lives in and out of the classroom. Amanda will provide an overview of the latest developments in AI and education, from policy changes to new GenAI tools.

An Overview of GenAI: This overview will allow participants to establish a common understanding of GenAI by exploring its fundamental concepts, addressing widespread misconceptions, and tracing AI’s developmental journey from theoretical concept to educational game-changer.
A Discussion of the Current Landscape: Participants will understand the latest developments in AI and education, including policy shifts, emerging tools, and innovative applications that are already transforming learning experiences across various educational settings.
Opportunities for Teaching and Learning: Participants will consider both the short term and long term opportunities for advancing effective teaching practices and student learning given the capabilities and limitations of emerging GenAI tools and technologies.
Ethical Considerations: Participants will be presented with thought-provoking considerations for the ethical dimensions of GenAI adoption, with particular focus on preserving academic integrity and promoting responsible technology use among students and educators.

Amanda is the Co-Founder and CEO of AI for Education. A former high school biology teacher and EdTech executive with over 20 years of experience in the education sector, she has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that AI can offer. She is a frequent consultant, speaker, and writer on the topic of AI in education, leading workshops and professional learning across both K12 and Higher Ed. Amanda is committed to helping schools and teachers maximize their potential through the ethical and equitable adoption of AI.
