Dr. Angela M. Gibson is faculty in the Higher Education Administration Leadership doctoral certificate program and the Adult Education graduate program at Texas A and M University – Kingsville. She is also a contributing faculty member and doctoral advisor in the Doctor of Education program at St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Additionally, she serves as faculty for the Online Learning Consortium Institute for Professional Development. With over 25 years in higher education, including student and academic affairs, she has extensive background in curriculum and instructional design, and training and mentoring. Dr. Gibson is a NASA Solar System Ambassador, a recipient of the OLC 2014 Effective Practice Award, and honored with the USAHS Excellence in Teaching Award 2021.

Sue is an instructional designer with the Center for Distributed Learning at the University of Central Florida. Sue collaborates with faculty to deliver professional development opportunities and apply best practices in course development. Sue offers consultation and instructional design guidance to faculty at the University. Sue’s special interest areas are project management for instructional designers in higher education, Mobile teaching/learning, and professional development for online educators.

Native Floridian Tina Calandrino has worked as an educator in higher learning for over 25 years. She began her college career as Faculty at Miami-Dade College working with students on a new concept called Macintosh computers. This set the tone for an interest in using computers for more practical educational purposes than just the desktop editing that existed in 1988. Today, her research interests in online learning include Competency-Based Education, Gender/Age/Inclusion Bias, and Faculty Development.

Ms. Teah Cummings is an IT professional with 10+ years experience delivering technology solutions at St. George’s University. Ms. Cummings has a Master of Science Degree in Instructional Technology Management and Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Information Systems. Areas of specialization include: Learning Technologies, Technical Training Management and Change Management. Ms. Cummings research interests are educational reform, emerging technologies, digital literacy and digital transformation. She has presented at industry related conferences such as Council for Education in the Commonwealth 2019 Annual Conference and Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) Conference.

I am a faculty member with Hillsborough Community College’s nursing program. My nursing experience includes emergency and pediatric nursing. My educational experience includes LPN instructor, RN instructor, and simulation educator. I currently teach the first semester students as they begin their journey into the nursing profession. Professionally, I am most interested in topics surrounding simulation education, improvement of student self-efficacy, and student engagement. I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on Nursing Education from the University of Central Florida and am working towards a Doctorate in Education from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honor Society), American Nurses Association (ANA), and National League for Nursing (NLN). I serve on several HCC committees and Coordinating Council for Tampa Bay. I live in Tampa, FL, with my husband, our four children, and three fur babies.

Madison Hanson is a doctoral student in the Doctor of Education program at the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences. She holds a Master’s in Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. Madison has supported the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in various scientific and professional development programs by providing expertise in science and education. Her research interests include education disparities and differences in online versus face-to-face education.

Dr. Jessica Knott is Assistant Vice President of Community Strategy, Experience, and Management. In this role, Jessica manages outreach activities and strategies, including environmental scanning, experience design, communications and planning, based on a deep understanding of our community and member interests. Prior to the OLC, Jessica led a team that supported faculty and academic staff in creating quality, caring and exemplary digital experiences at Michigan State University.

Dr. Denise Lowe holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership, Higher Education; an M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling; a B.S. in Psychology; and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMH). Her interest in the field of instructional design grew from online experiences as an online educator and student. Creating learning environments that foster student/faculty growth and learning led her to UCF. Denise served as an Instructional Design Team Lead from 2009 – 2018, where her duties included oversight responsibilities for several Strategic Initiatives, including faculty development. Denise teaches as an adjunct lecturer in the LEAD Scholars Academy and the Nicholson School of Communication and Media. Her research focus areas are faculty development, emotional intelligence and leadership, and online design and teaching effectiveness. Denise currently holds a faculty rank of Senior Instructional Designer.

Katie Fife Schuster is the Director, Conferences & Events for OLC. In conjunction with the Senior Director, Conferences & Events and the Conference Service Manager, Katie provides direction and leadership toward the achievement of OLC’s annual conferences. Prior to her current role, she held the position of Director of Online Learning for OLC and managed the planning, development, and production activities of the workshop program. She has also been OLC’s Director of Publications. She has experience from her years in the publishing industry prior to joining OLC and holds a BA from Tufts University in anthropology and Spanish.

As the Director of Online Engagement, Madeline (Maddie) Shellgren serves as the lead innovator, designer, and project manager of the OLC’s portfolio of online engagement opportunities. Known for her love of storytelling, play, and all things gameful, Maddie thrives on facilitating and designing meaningful ways for people to connect, learn, and grow together. Within the OLC, she has served on steering and operations committees for several of the organization’s conferences (including as Technology Test Kitchen and Innovation Studio lead, as well as Engagement Co-Chair) and has had the distinct honor of being the mastermind behind the OLC Escape Rooms. She looks forward to continuing supporting OLC community building efforts, is committed to sustainable, equitable, and anti-oppressive ecologies within education, and is genuinely excited to leverage her interdisciplinary scholarly and professional backgrounds as she helps lead the OLC towards truly innovative and transformative models for what’s possible for online and digital engagement. Maddie joins the OLC from Michigan State University (MSU), where she has served as the lead on numerous student success initiatives related to instructional design and technology, accessibility, and equity and inclusion. Over the past eleven years, Maddie has dedicated her professional life to teaching and learning related initiatives and has strategically sought out opportunities that give her a multi-dimensional perspective on teaching and learning, including working as a Standardized Patient training medical students, serving as Program Director for Teaching Assistant development, taking lead on a number of cross-institutional educator onboarding and professional development projects, and teaching across online and face-to-face contexts. She most recently worked as an Assistant Rowing Coach for the MSU Varsity Women’s Rowing Program. There she was given the opportunity to help redesign a community from the bottom up, story the team’s new journey together in fun and multimodal ways, lead in the co-construction of community expectations and norms, help ensure alignment across a variety of stakeholders and initiatives, and develop and operationalize strategic structures for long-term sustainability (such as entirely new social media, marketing, communications, and content management strategies). She had the privilege of seeing the impact of her human-centered and equity-oriented approach each and every day as the team reimagined what it meant to be a Spartan on the MSU Rowing Team. With her move to the OLC, she will continue on as a volunteer coach, still supporting these efforts and the team, and is excited to get back on the water.

Corrinne Stull is an Instructional Designer at the University of Central Florida’s Center for Distributed Learning (CDL). Corrinne holds a B.A. in Digital Media with a focus on Web Design and previously worked in web development. Her interest in combining technology and education to design and create online learning experiences led her to pursue and complete an M.A. in Instructional Design & Technology, focusing on Instructional Systems. In her current role, Corrinne specializes in personalized adaptive learning software and strategies. Other research interests include online course accessibility, active learning strategies, quality in online courses, and the use of OER materials.

Matthew is an Instructional Designer & Technologist with the Office of Online Learning at Coastal Carolina University (CCU). He holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Instructional Technology from CCU where he also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching, Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Training, and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Summa Cum Laude. In addition, Matthew is a nationally certified Quality Matters (QM) Master Reviewer and Peer Reviewer for Online & Hybrid Courses in the following categories: Higher Education, Continuing Professional Education, K-12, and K-12 Publisher Courses. He is also a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, Influencer, and Trainer. Matthew remains active in his field by presenting at conferences, serving on national conference peer-review committees (ex: American Educational Research Association, Online Learning Consortium, etc.), and by serving as past Track Chair for the Teaching and Learning Practice of OLC Innovate 2021.
