Presenter Resources

As you prepare your submission or to give your presentation at OLC Accelerate, you may consider using these resources. The slide template provides you with a user friendly and accessible slide format that can be used as a template for your presentation. We encourage all of our presenters to use this as a starting point if you like. Presenters are always also welcome to use your own style of PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides or alternate slide design or presentation option desired, as well.

We ask all presenters to please include the evaluation slide at the end of your slide deck. OLC uses evaluations from session presentations to determine many variables in our conferences, including special invitations to selected speakers. Attendees of your session who fill out the survey are also eligible for a prize, which will be discussed in keynote/opening sessions with attendees.

Use the links below to access/download these resources. More will be added as the conference nears.

Presenter FAQ

We encourage you to develop your own “personal brand” by using your own/your institution’s slide template, but in the event you would like to use a conference-provided template, you are welcome to use the OLC Accelerate conference template.

Please do use the Session Evaluation Reminder Slide at the start and end of your presentation to remind attendees to submit feedback on your presentation.

How to upload your presentation materials to your session page:

Lead presenters should upload or link their presentation file and any additional supplemental files for their presentation no later than September 10. These materials will be available to registered attendees on the OLC Accelerate 2021 conference website. Providing your final presentation and supplemental materials is an important accessibility consideration and essential to providing a quality conference experience for all attendees. Note: Only lead presenters will be able to upload files.

  • Log into your OLC user account
  • Select “Conference Profile” from the left-hand menu.
  • Once in the Conference Management System, click on “My Sessions” in the upper right.
  • Next to your session, click on the “Edit” link.
  • Click on the “Upload Files” link for your session.
  • Add your presentation url or upload your presentation file using the file browser.  (If you are using PowerPoint, we recommend saving your ppt file as a PDF and uploading the smaller file-size PDF.)
  • Scroll down and click “Save.”

Mentoring:

One of the best ways to improve upon a skill is to work with a mentor who can offer feedback and guidance that is tailored specifically to your needs. OLC now offers this as a free service to all conference presenters. However, there are a limited number of mentoring sessions being offered this year. Signing up early is highly recommended.

1-On-1 Conference Presentation Coaching

Connect with a mentor to explore strategies for engaging your audience, enhancing your slides, practice presenting, and more.

Ready to take your presentation skills to the next level?

Mentoring sessions will take place in August and September leading up to the conference. Mentoring requests will be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Working with a mentor can be the difference between a good presentation and a great one. All of our mentors have a proven history of giving presentations that consistently earn high ratings for all of the main components of successful sessions – engagement, slide design, and delivery.
