Now Recruiting: OLC Accelerate Field Guide Chair (Volunteer Role)

Are you a seasoned OLC conference-goer with a passion for helping others feel welcome and connected? The Online Learning Consortium is seeking a Field Guide Chair for the OLC Accelerate 2025 onsite conference this November!

The Field Guide Chair leads a team of volunteers dedicated to supporting first-time attendees and creating an inclusive, engaging conference experience. If you love building community and have strong organizational and communication skills, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Field Guide volunteer team
  • Attend pre-conference planning meetings
  • Familiarize yourself with the conference program and mobile app
  • Present at the First Timer’s Orientation session
  • Help develop and deliver campus tours and networking meetups
  • Staff the Field Guide station onsite

Qualifications:

  • Current OLC community member
  • Prior attendance at an OLC onsite conference
  • Commitment to attend the full onsite event in Orlando, FL, November 17-20, 2025
  • Previous OLC volunteer experience (preferred)

Estimated Time Commitment: ~20 hours total (includes pre-conference and onsite work). Must be able to attend the onsite conference.

Volunteer Benefit: 50% off non-member conference registration rate (Note: travel and lodging are not covered)

  • A summary of your relevant experience (especially past OLC conferences and volunteer roles)

  • Confirmation that you can attend the November onsite conference

  • Conference Support: Assist in organizing and facilitating OLC conferences and events.
  • Community Engagement: Moderate forums, lead discussions, and foster connections within our online communities.
  • Content Creation: Contribute articles, resources, and insights to OLC publications and platforms.
  • Program Development: Collaborate on the design and implementation of OLC programs and workshops.
