Founded in 2009, the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) continues its legacy of cultivating forward-thinking digital learning leaders. In 2026, the program’s onsite residency will be hosted by George Washington University (GWU) and its College of Professional Studies, located in the vibrant and policy-rich heart of Washington, D.C.
IELOL is a trailblazing hybrid leadership development program designed for professionals advancing digital learning across the educational landscape. A central feature of the program is the immersive residency, held in partnership with an academic institution recognized for its innovation and excellence in online and professional education. Past host institutions have included the University of Central Florida, Arizona State University, Pennsylvania State University, and, most recently, the University of Wisconsin.
