REGISTERED ATTENDEES: Access the conference sessions classic venue here You will need to be logged in using the email you used to register for the conference to attend or watch the sessions. Once logged in, open the page for the session you wish to attend, then click on the “Watch Session” button.

Making the Most of Your Virtual Conference Experience

We have heard time and again that the most valuable part of conferences is the informal conversation that occurs after an interesting session. Stay deeply engaged in the sessions, activities and networking at #OLCAccelerate as a Virtual Attendee. Our first ever all-virtual conference includes sessions that come in a wide variety of formats and flavors – presentations, conversations, workshops, featured sessions, panels, and industry showcases among others.

This space is intended to help guide you through the technical aspects of the conference as you prepare for an engaging and interactive virtual experience.  

Before the conference begins, please take time to review the virtual checklist, participation tips, session listing, and look for answers to your questions in the FAQ page. 

Make sure to check out the Twitter feed to connect with other folks at the conference. 

All sessions are listed on the website in US EASTERN STANDARD TIME ZONE. Be sure you are calculating the correct time to join a session.

OLC Live

As part of the broader Virtual Experience at #OLCAccelerate 2020, OLC Live! is a catered virtual lounge and conversation space where participants can engage directly with keynote speakers, select presenters, and other attendees. Join our OLC Live guest hosts Jenae Cohn and Nate Angell for your chance to connect virtually with a variety of personalities from the OLC community.

OLC Live is open to the entire OLC Community whether you are a registered OLC Accelerate 2020 Virtual Conference attendee or not. Come join the conversations!

Accessing the Conference Venues

How to Log in to the Conference Daily

OLC will be offering two avenues of access for attendees to join the Accelerate 2020 program: Classic and Enhanced.

Enhanced Access: You are invited to access the conference in a new platform that the Online Learning Consortium is testing for our 2020 conferences. Our hope is that you will find the new platform provides easier navigation of conference sessions, access to resources, and more interaction through our virtual exhibit hall. To access via the enhanced venue:

  • Navigate to the OLC website and log in to your OLC User account (that you used to register for the conference). 
  • Once logged in, click “My Account”
  • You will see a blue stripe that says “The OLC Accelerate 2020 Conference enhanced venue is open. Access enhanced venue” at the top of the page.
  • After you select the link, you will be redirected to the enhanced-venue sign in page. Sign in with the email you used to register for the conference.

  • After you click the link, you will be redirected to the sign in page. Sign in with the email you used to register for the conference.
  • You will then find yourself on the Home page of the enhanced venue.
  • Click on “Sessions” box which takes you to the list of sessions coming up for the day.
  • Select the session title you wish to view. (Watch the video for many ways to search for a session.) This will open a pop-up box.
  • Select the red “Attend” button. This will take you to a full session description.
  • Click on the green “Join the Webinar” button.
  • This will launch Zoom and your session will begin at the scheduled time (US Eastern Time Zone).
  • If you arrive prior to the session start time, you will see a countdown clock above the “Attend” button. You won’t be able to enter the session room until 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
  • Remember – Discovery and Exposition Foundry Sessions are held asynchronously and may be viewed at any time.  Clicking on one of these sessions will let you view the the presentation in VoiceThread. You can create a free VoiceThread account or log in to your existing VoiceThread account to leave comments. 

Classic Access: Available to all registered attendees, this provides entrance to conference sessions through the OLC Accelerate website. This is the standard view that previous virtual conference attendees would be familiar with. To access via the Classic view:

  • Navigate to the OLC website and log in to your OLC User account (that you used to register for the conference). 
  • Once logged in, click “My Account.”
  • You will see a blue stripe that says “The OLC Accelerate 2020 Conference classic venue is open. Access classic venue” at the top of the page.
  • Click “Access classic venue.”
  • You will be redirected to the Classic conference website/venue. Click on Program/Sessions in the navigation bar in the top menu.
  • Find the session you wish to view. (Watch the video for many ways to search for a session.)
  • Click on the session title.
  • Click on the orange “Watch This Session” button in the upper right-side panel.
  • This will launch Zoom and your session will begin at the scheduled time (US Eastern Time Zone).

OLC Accelerate 2020 Program Menu Item

  • Find the session you wish to view (watch the video for many ways to search for a session).
  • Click on the session title.
  • Click on the orange “Watch This Session” button in the upper right-side panel.
  • This will launch Zoom and your session will begin at the scheduled time (US Eastern Time Zone).
  • If you log in prior to the session start time, you will see a box “The meeting is scheduled for xx date – start at xx time – and the session title.” Links will be active approximately 15 minutes prior to the session start time.
  • Remember – Discovery and Exposition Foundry Sessions are held asynchronously and may be viewed at any time.  Clicking on one of these sessions will let you view the the presentation in VoiceThread. You can create a free VoiceThread account or log in to your existing VoiceThread account to leave comments. 
 
Attendees please note: As you enter a session in either “Watch Now” (Classic view) or  “Attend” (enhanced view), remember that links will be active 15 minutes before the start of each live-streamed session. Each room does have a maximum capacity of 1000 participants, so we encourage you to arrive a few minutes early to ensure you get a “seat” in the session. If you find that the capacity of the room has been reached, please select another session to attend during that time block and come back to view the on-demand recording at a later date.
Presenters and session chairs please note: You will enter your assigned presentation room the same way you would enter a session as an attendee, depending on which system (classic or enhanced) you are using. Please plan on entering your presentation room 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time (as soon as the link is available).
