What is a Virtual Conference? 

All sessions will be live streamed and recorded using the Zoom platform, including the keynote sessions, featured sessions, education sessions, industry showcase sessions. On-demand access of all recorded sessions is provided to attendees post-conference for one year.  

  • Participate despite schedule restraints. On-demand access to all recorded sessions is provided to attendees post-conference for one year. To access streamed sessions, participants need to be logged in to their OLC user accounts at onlinelearningconsortium.org.
  • Virtual program provides a full scale online conference experience. All sessions will be streamed, including keynote sessions, featured sessions, educations sessions, and industry showcase sessions.
  • Interact with presenters and fellow conference attendees. Post questions in each individual session’s Zoom chat window (monitored by session chairs) as well as participate in larger conference discussions via our OLC Innovate Slack Channel. We also invite all participants to Tweet their comments on sessions using our Twitter hashtag #OLCInnovate.

*If you are purchasing a Group Virtual Conference Package, the designated Group Manager must purchase this package first.  Upon completion of this package registration, the group manager will receive an email with additional instructions to register individual participants from their institution. Each participant will need to register themselves as an “Individual” Virtual Attendee by selecting the “Virtual Unlimited Pass” associated with your institutional unlimited group purchase. 

REGISTRATION POLICY

As previously shared with our community, OLC continues to monitor the evolving factors related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, particularly with regard to our OLC Innovate conference. Among recent developments, gatherings exceeding 1,000 people are now prohibited in the state of Illinois, which has contributed to our decision to move OLC Innovate 2020 completely online. OLC Innovate 2020 Virtual Conference will now be held June 15-26 in Zoom.  The new schedule will be posted mid-April.

As a small non-profit organization, we strive to create cancellation policies that offer flexibility to accommodate the unforeseen circumstances that participants may face, while also sustaining our support and services across our community.  As such, we have established the following policies for OLC Innovate 2020:

  • All current attendees will have their registration automatically transferred to the new OLC Innovate 2020 Virtual Conference
  • Registrants will be provided a credit memo for the difference between the amount paid for the onsite event and the registration cost for the virtual event.  This credit memo will be automatically processed by OLC Accounting and emailed to the attendee. The credit memo can be used for a future OLC conference or OLC Institute for Professional Development workshop through December 31, 2021 and is transferable to anyone at your institution.
  • If you are not able to participate in the June virtual conference, a substitute may attend in your place. OLC has decided to waive the substitution fee for OLC Innovate 2020 due to the ongoing situation related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  In order to complete this substitution, the name and email address of the substitute must be emailed to conference@onlinelearning- c.org.
  • For those who do not wish to participate in the OLC Innovate 2020 Virtual Conference (June 15-26), they can contact conference@onlinelearning-c.org to request a full credit memo to be used for a future OLC conference or workshop through December 31, 2021. Full credit memo requests must be received in writing no later than March 31, 2020. No refunds will be issued at any time.

Please note that the Online Learning Consortium is not responsible for any change or cancellation charges assessed by airlines, travel agents, hotels or other similar vendors.

As we are experiencing a large volume of requests for assistance at this time, we ask for patience as our limited staff handles all special requests related to conferences.  Currently, we are anticipating a minimum of 30 days for processing any special requests. This excludes conversions from onsite to virtual registrations, which will be processed automatically.
