The 2026 Emerging Technologies Disruption Framework (ETDF) provides higher education leaders with a practical, evidence-informed framework for understanding how AI and other emerging technologies are reshaping online and blended learning. Developed through a multi-phase research study, the ETDF examines disruption across 11 interconnected domains—from teaching and learning to governance, infrastructure, and workforce—helping institutions move beyond isolated conversations about AI toward more strategic, collaborative, and context-sensitive decision-making.
