IELOL (2025 Cohort) Informational Webinar

This webinar, co-hosted by Josh Herron and Katie Schuster of OLC and Matt Vick and Jason Beier of University of Wisconsin, will highlight OLC’s premier leadership development program designed for new and experienced professionals in the field of digital and online learning. The session will provide an overview of the program and its faculty, the program’s four phases, time commitment, program objectives, and participant experience. Participants will learn about the application process and timeline to prepare a successful application submission. Questions and comments are welcomed.

Speaker Bio
Josh Herron, Ph.D.
Director of Professional Learning – Online Learning Consortium

As Director of Professional Learning, Josh guides the strategy and operations of OLC’s Center for Professional Learning. He has over fourteen years of higher education leadership and instructional experience. He has also published and presented widely on higher education practices, pedagogical research, and interdisciplinary scholarship. Josh holds a Ph.D. in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design from Clemson University and an M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is a 2016 graduate of IELOL.
Katie Fife Schuster
Director of Programming – Online Learning Consortium

Katie Fife Schuster serves as the Director of Programming for the Online Learning Consortium, where she is a key architect in thought leadership and strategic planning for the organization. Dedicated to innovating and directing a diverse array of programming initiatives, she designs and implements both virtual and onsite programs, including OLC’s specialized symposiums and leadership institutes, showcasing her adaptability in today’s evolving digital learning landscape. Katie has been an integral part of OLC since 2001 and has made significant contributions to the success of the organization in various roles. With a background in the publishing industry, she brings a pragmatic and results-oriented approach to her work. Katie holds a BA from Tufts University in anthropology and Spanish, is a certified yoga teacher, and is a proud graduate of OLC’s IELOL program.
Elisabeth Stucklen
Elisabeth Stucklen
Instructional Designer – Online Learning Consortium

Elisabeth Stucklen is an instructional designer in the Online Learning Consortium’s Center for Professional Learning, where she provides course design/production and facilitation support for the foundational and Advanced Instructional Designer Certificate Programs, 4-week workshops, and serves as the instructional designer in the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) program. She has worked in online higher education and instructional design for over 20 years. Prior to joining OLC, she worked as the senior instructional designer at Mount Washington College (MWC) in Manchester, NH, where she was responsible for creating new online courses, providing training and support for faculty, and assisting the director in monitoring the course development process. Before MWC, she worked at Lesley University providing professional development and course design assistance to faculty. In addition to her role with the OLC, Elisabeth also teaches online for Brandeis University in their Masters in Learning Experience Design program and has served as a mentor in the Educause ID2ID cross-institutional peer mentoring program for the instructional designer. Elisabeth holds a Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Technology from Lesley University and is a graduate of the 2020 cohort for the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL).
 
Matthew Vick, Ph.D.
Dean, School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education – University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

Dr. Matthew Vick has 16 years of experience in higher education as a professor of curriculum and instruction, interim director of learning technology, and currently as Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He provides academic leadership to an educational specialist, a doctoral degree, and 24 master’s degree programs. Several of the master’s programs have implemented stackable certificate pathways. The unit also manages the dual enrollment initiatives of the university. The Warhawk Dual Enrollment Academy provided an opportunity to partner with excellent Instructional Design and Media Production resources of the Universities of WIsconsin Office of Online and Professional Learning Resources. Matt has been involved with OLC presenting at Accelerate conferences since 2017 and is a graduate of the 2020 IELOL cohort. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from UW-Madison and an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and Ph.D. in Urban Education from UW-Milwaukee.


Jason Beier, J.D.
Interim Associate Vice President of Online Learning – University of Wisconsin Extended Campus

Jason serves as University of Wisconsin System Interim Associate Vice President of Online Learning for the Office of Online & Professional Learning Resources. His primary responsibility is to develop and expand educational opportunities for adult and professionally-oriented students, the largest segment of the state and nation now seeking higher education. Office of Online & Professional Learning Resources has built a national reputation for creating award-winning innovative and student-centric programs that partner with and leverage resources across all University of Wisconsin campuses. In Jason’s 20+-year career with UW System, he has had the opportunity to work with and travel to each campus in the system. While with UW System Administration, Jason held several leadership positions in human resources and led several important projects, including the establishment of the policies and procedures that resulted in implementation of the University Personnel System. Jason has also served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Human Resources for UW Colleges and UW-Extension. During his tenure in that role, he helped lead two major reorganizations. He was also the interim Vice Chancellor for Administration and finance for UW Colleges and UW-Extension. Jason received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from UW-Madison.
