The Instructional Designer Certificate is designed to support the development of competency, expertise, and skills in online instructional designers, librarians, and multimedia specialists who currently work with online faculty and other online learning support professionals.

Throughout each of the courses, participants will collaborate in discussion with their colleagues and gain knowledge and skills in: analyzing learning/instructional theories and instructional methods to support professional development and practice; providing strategies and resources for staying current with emerging best practices; guiding new and experienced faculty through the online course development process; providing opportunities to faculty for integrating rich and appropriate multimedia into the course design; and becoming qualified in applying the OLC Open SUNY Course Quality Review (OSCQR) rubric and process.

The Instructional Design Mastery Series is focused on learning outcomes and assessment, instructional strategies, and course management and evaluation of courses that may take place in various learning environments (i.e., web-enhanced, blended, and/or online).

Throughout each of the modules, you will explore common instructional design techniques (based on relevant research) and use such strategies to help you design an effective learning unit.
