The OLC Emerging Scholars program provides current and recently (within one year) graduated doctoral students with the opportunity to contribute to research and publications, collaborate with institutions, and network with peers and mentors in the online learning community. 

This one-year appointment is an opportunity for researchers, scholars, and practitioners, and is open to a variety of interests related to online learning. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Research or practical work on current issues: big data, student privacy, leadership and organizational strategy, teaching and learning outcomes, enrollment trends, student support, pedagogy, emergency remote teaching, and quality online courses, etc.
  • Related areas of work and interest may include grant-writing, student affairs (student services, orientation, student programming, etc.), and academic support (advising/counseling, library, digital literacy/humanities, etc.).

Nominees will need to provide a statement of interest and a description of activities, interests, work, research, career goals, etc. that demonstrate a commitment to the field of online education.

  • The nominee’s CV
  • Three letters of support addressing the evaluation criteria
