Dr. Sherri Restauri has served in academia for 17 years. During this time, she has served as an instructional designer, faculty member in the field of psychology and other areas, and also as an administrator over Online Learning at several universities. Dr. Restauri joined the Coastal Office of Online Learning as their Director in July 2016. Her research focus is on improving the teaching and learning process across all teaching modalities through the use of technology, with specific interest in pedagogical practices to increase student engagement, and best practices in online pedagogy.

Dr. Tawnya Means is Assistant Dean and Director of the Teaching and Learning Center for the College of Business at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, providing comprehensive learning support for students and faculty development programs and resources for instructional innovation and adoption of pedagogical best practices. With nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, course design, and educational consulting, Tawnya also teaches courses in strategy, technology, and leadership in remote teams.

Melissa Hortman, EdD is an Assistant Professor and Director of Instructional Technology at the Medical University of South Carolina. Melissa leads the administration, support and training on all central instructional technologies including the learning management system and virtual classroom tools. Additionally, Melissa helps to lead faculty development initiatives by contributing her expertise of online learning, digital accessibility, disruptive innovations, and technology enhanced teaching. Melissa has presented over 30 presentations at national and regional conferences in the past five years including plenary sessions, special sessions and workshops. Melissa has a passion for takings risks and embracing both successes and failures to make the education of tomorrow better than today.

Jessica is an instructional technology specialist with the Office of Online Learning. She also serves as a teaching associate in the College of Science. She holds a Master of Education in Instructional Technology (M.Ed.) and Educational Specialist (Ed.S) in Instructional Technology, both from Coastal. In addition, she also holds a certificate in Online Teaching and Training. Hall serves as a board member and reviewer for the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT), as well as an active conference proposal reviewer for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC).

Tina Rettler-Pagel is a Faculty member and Chief Online Learning Officer at Madison College, in Madison, Wisconsin. Tina holds a B.S in Education with an emphasis on Emotional Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.S. in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is currently working on a Student Affairs Administration Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Tina has completed an Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Teaching Certificate, as well as participated in OLC’s Institute for Engaged Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) in 2017. Her research interests include retention and persistence in the online classroom, women in higher education leadership and governance, digital equity, and community college approaches to teaching and learning. When consulting with faculty, and in her own practice, Tina shares three important lessons: start small, engage at all costs, and never underestimate the power of kindness and inclusion in the classroom. Instructional Designer and OLC Accelerate Engagement Co-Chair

Matthew is an Instructional Designer & Technologist with the Office of Online Learning at Coastal Carolina University (CCU). He holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Instructional Technology from CCU where he also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching, Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching and Training, and a Bachelor of Arts in History, Summa Cum Laude. In addition, Matthew is a nationally certified Quality Matters (QM) Master Reviewer and Peer Reviewer for Online & Hybrid Courses in the following categories: Higher Education, Continuing Professional Education, K-12, and K-12 Publisher Courses. He is also a certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, Influencer, and Trainer. Matthew remains active in his field by presenting at conferences, serving on national conference peer-review committees (ex: American Educational Research Association, Online Learning Consortium, etc.), and by serving as a conference board member (ex: Association Supporting Computer Users in Education).

Eric Michael French is an instructional designer with the Center for Transformative teaching and the College of Business Teaching and Learning Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During his prior faculty career, he taught dozens of courses in the social sciences and more than seven thousand students. His areas of expertise are high-enrollment teaching, leading effective class discussions, the training of teaching assistants, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Eric holds a Ph.D. in political science from Indiana University.

Cheryl Fulghum oversees Instructional Design and Online Learning at Haywood Community College in western North Carolina. In this role, she is responsible for instructional design through faculty development, online course design, emerging technologies research, accessibility compliance, and the administrations of several learning platforms. She describes her main role as faculty cheerleader, empowering faculty to become 21st century teachers despite self-identified low-tech skills and fear of the unknown.
