The Quality Scorecard Mastery Series is a series of three workshops focused on the implementation of the OLC Quality Scorecard (QSC) for the administration of online programs. The Quality Scorecard has been meeting a critical need for administrators since its introduction in 2010, at a time when competition for quality in online education is at an all time high. The recently revised Quality Scorecard (Version 2) is an internationally recognized tool to help online administrators evaluate and improve online higher education programs by measuring the quantifying elements of quality within online education programs.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify strategies for implementing the OLC Quality Scorecard at your institution
  • Discuss examples of best practices for quality indicators
  • Evaluate your program(s) in each of the nine categories within the Quality Scorecard
  • Provide feedback for program quality at other institutions
  • Identify focus areas for the improvement of your own program(s)
  • Develop an improvement plan based on the Quality Scorecard evaluation process
  • Exchange feedback on program improvement with faculty and administrators from other
    institutions


Successful participants will receive a PDF certificate of completion and a digital badge of completion via Credly. Please note that badges will not be issued for programs prior to 2018.

Note: Each workshop is one week long. Between each workshop there will be a three-week break to give you time to complete some self-guided research and reflect on your learning.

 

Evaluating and Improving Quality I: Implementing the Quality Scorecard
Join in a thorough review of the recently revised Quality Scorecard for the Administration of Online Education Program. Get up to speed on research based practices for implementing the scorecard. In this workshop, you'll explore how the scorecard can be implemented in various institutions, identify best practices to achieve quality indicators, and begin to evaluate your own program(s) for a few chosen quality indicators from the scorecard.

Objectives:

  • Identify strategies for implementing OLC Quality Scorecard in your institution.
  • Discuss examples of best practices for quality indicators.

 

Evaluating and Improving Quality II: Evaluation of Online Higher Education Programs
Conducting program evaluation can be overwhelming. The Quality Scorecard for the Administration of Online Programs provides the scaffolding needed to organize your program evaluation. Using artifacts from your programs, peer review, and the Quality Scorecard handbook, in this workshop you'll complete the evaluation of your program(s) using the plan Quality Scorecard and identify areas of improvement for your own program improvement.

Objectives:

  • Evaluate your program(s) in each of the nine categories within the Quality Scorecard.
  • Provide feedback for program quality at other institutions.
  • Identify focus areas for the improvement of your own program(s)

 

Evaluating and Improving Quality III: Planning for Improvement
Improvement plans target specific actions to raise scores in areas highlighted during the evaluation process. Through the development of a unique improvement plan for your own online program(s) in this workshop you'll prepare to enhance quality in the focus areas you've selected for your program(s).

Objectives:

  • Develop an improvement plan based on the Quality Scorecard evaluation process.
  • Exchange feedback on program improvement with faculty and administrators from other institutions.
