How do we move faculty beyond viewing accessibility as a compliance requirement? We’ll share approaches to communication, training, and support that build faculty buy-in and foster accessible course design grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

Ruru Rusmin | Assistant Dean of Faculty Development & Instructional Technology, CUNY School of Professional Studies

Ruru Rusmin is an educational technologist and higher education leader with more than three decades of experience advancing online learning, faculty development, and the effective integration of technology into teaching. Her work explores how emerging technologies and evolving forms of digital interaction can transform teaching and learning, and she has led faculty development initiatives on online pedagogy, HyFlex teaching, digital accessibility, and generative AI in higher education.

Antonia Levy | Associate Director of Faculty Development & Instructional Technology, CUNY School of Professional Studies

Antonia Levy is an educational technologist and sociologist who has spent more than a decade working across faculty development, digital accessibility, and inclusive teaching in higher education. At CUNY, she has led programming on accessibility, Universal Design for Learning, and the use of generative AI in the classroom. She co-created the OpenUDL framework, which brings together UDL guidelines and open education principles.
