In recent weeks, our community has seen countless opportunities for engagement and collaboration cancelled or postponed.  Not wanting to lose the chance for countless educators to reflect, share, and engage, the OLC made the decision to run OLC Innovate 2020 as a fully-online conference spanning a two week period from June 15-19 and June 22-26.

The OLC Innovate 2020 Virtual Conference planning team quickly mobilized to meet two outcomes: (1) to achieve the same objectives in the online space as planned for the face-to-face, and (2) model the best practices and techniques that educators use online to create space for interaction, collaboration and innovation. Through countless hours of planning, the team created a reimagined conference that will achieve the same outcomes as the face to face experience, featuring vibrant programming, impactful networking, and opportunities to reflect and connect with our colleagues in the field of online, digital and blended learning. I’m humbled by the community’s efforts in contributing to this  unique opportunity thus far, and cannot wait to show the world the transformative power of the online modality to increase access to knowledge while meeting the same outcomes as the face to face environment.

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Keegan Long-Wheeler, an instructional technologist at The University of Oklahoma, and OLC Innovate’s Program Co-Chair.  In this conversation, we shared our current challenges and promising opportunities related to our daily work in the time of crisis, and chatted about what we saw as most valuable in OLC Innovate’s move to the online space.

For those that are interested in joining us at OLC Innovate 2020 Virtual Conference, here are some details breaking down the new format.  The fully-online OLC Innovate 2020 virtual package offers a full-scale online conference experience that includes even more than the previous version of the virtual program:

  • Live-stream and on-demand recordings of twice as many sessions, including keynote sessions, featured sessions, education sessions, and industry showcases
  • Four (4) targeted summits – HBCU, Research, Community College and the Leadership Network
  • Wednesday morning workshops are included in the price
  • Ability to interact with presenters and fellow conference attendees
  • Social and networking activities including happy hours, game socials, yoga, fitness sessions, and more!

We cannot wait to see you online and look forward to our conversations, discoveries, and shared championing of online as the broker of access and impact in education. Ready to join us? Register today.
