#WeAreOLC: Shared Memories

“Wow, It is wonderful to celebrate OLC’s 25th anniversary! I have been working with them (then Sloan-C) since 2003. I would submit our online classes to their quality review system to be listed on the website or get feedback for improvement. I was actually one of the first Online Teaching Certificate Mentors and got to work with amazing educators who were adopting online learning and wanted to learn all that they could. The go to resource has always been OLC!

I will never forget the day in 2009 when I was talking on the phone with Dr. Janet Moore, the then Sloan-C Chief Knowledge Officer, about some upcoming opportunities. As we were wrapping up the conversation, she asked me what I was focusing on for my dissertation research. When I told her I wanted to develop some kind of a quality scorecard for online programs, she immediately got excited and said, “Kaye! Sloan-C Is very interested in that, especially with the work on the Sloan-C Pillars of Quality”. This incredible organization that focuses on providing rich resources for its members came along side me and helped me recruit the expert panel for the research. The rest is history!”
