Share or Advance Your Expertise in Online, Blended, and Digital Learning by Partnering with the Online Learning Consortium
The OLC is extending opportunities to American Education Research Association’s Online Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group (AERA OTL SIG) members to develop and contribute their expertise in the field of online learning across a variety of events, publications, research, and initiatives.
Involvement opportunities include the following: Research Advisory Council Membership, Publication Reviewers, Report/Playbook Reviewers, Book Reviewers, Event Planning Committee Members, and Blended Learning Community of Practice Members, and Research Study Partnership.
Research Council Advisory Members (RAC)
Serve as a member of the OLC’s Research Advisory Council to advise the growth and impact of the OLC Research Center. The Research Advisory Council requires a one-year commitment and regular virtual meeting participation.
Publication Reviewers
The OLC Research Center is exploring pathways to elevate the diverse voices of higher education educators, academic leaders, and professionals to elevate the diverse voices of faculty, instructional designers, faculty developers, leaders, graduate students, and established and emerging scholars as they work to apply research to practice in advancing quality online, blended, and digital learning. These new publication opportunities will provide an avenue to share manuscripts and multimodal submissions and serve as a complementary publication to the OLC’s flagship publication, Online Learning Journal. Reviewers with all levels of expertise in online, blended, and digital learning are needed to review incoming manuscripts and multimodal submissions.
Report/Playbook Reviewers
The OLC Research Center is seeking reviewers for its internal publications division. Reviewers with expertise in academic leadership, organizational development, instructional design, and online, digital, and blended teaching and learning are needed to provide substantive feedback on reports and playbooks resulting from OLC studies, initiatives, and partnerships.
Book Reviewers
The OLC Research Center is launching a new book publishing imprint with multiple titles slated for release in 2022. Book reviewers with expertise in academic leadership, instructional design, online, digital, and blended teaching and learning, student engagement, DEI, and online organizational structure are needed to provide substantive feedback and reviewer comments for upcoming titles.
Special Projects and Events
The OLC Research Center is seeking individuals to lead or volunteer for a variety of program initiatives and opportunities, including program planning, report writing, and the planning and hosting of large-scale on-site and virtual events. Program Committee Members will serve the OLC and the field of higher education by fostering community engagement around the advancement of online, blended, and digital learning. This opportunity requires a one-year commitment.
Blended Learning Community of Practice (COP) Members
Looking to engage with others on developing an institutional blended strategy for your blended institution of higher education (BIHE)? Join the OLC’s BIHE Community of Practice, where you can connect with and learn from leaders and share your experiences and stories leading your institution’s efforts to adopt or refine your institution’s blended approach. With onsite opportunities at OLC Innovate 2022 in Dallas, Texas from April 11-14, 2022, as well as fully online synchronous and asynchronous options, the BIHE Community of Practice features leadership and membership opportunities to build connections and expertise in blended learning institutional strategy.
Research Study Partnership
The OLC Research Team loves partnering with community members to conduct and share research to advance the field and practice of online, blended, and digital learning. Partner with the OLC Research Center to conduct your own upcoming study or become a member of the OLC Research Center’s research team on an upcoming study. Individuals interested in this opportunity will be contacted about available opportunities and are invited to submit their own research proposals for partnership consideration.
