Travel to Cape Town South Africa

There are a number of ways to travel to Cape Town South Africa.

Fly

The Cape Town International airport (CT) is the main airport servicing the Cape Peninsula where the University of the Western Cape is located. Cape Town International Airport is Africa’s 3rd largest airport. It is also Africa’s premier tourist and VIP destination and has established a reputation as Africa’s premier international award-winning airport, consistently performing among the best in the world for service in its category. Nearly 20 major airlines use this airport and provide flights to international as well as all local airports in South Africa.

Drive

Driving to Cape Town is easy with three of the major national South African highways, the N1, N2 and N7 ending in the city.

Ride

  • Bus: Greyhound, Intercape, Translux and City to City provides coach bus services to most of the SADC countries and the rest of the regional capital cities in South Africa. The central bus terminal is located in the Cape Town city centre.
  • Train: Cape Town is also connected to most of the regional capital cities in South Africa by train. The train service is called the Shosoloza Meyl, managed by the South African national train service, which stops at central train station located in the Cape Town city centre.

This hotel is located near the IELOL training venue at UWC and the IELOL will also provide free transport from the hotel to the training venue. Overlooking the City of Bellville and the Boland mountains, Bellvista Lodge is situated in a quiet residential area. At this elegant and modern lodge on the Bellville Park Campus of the University of Stellenbosch you will experience the finest hospitality and impeccable service. It is ideally situated for course participants on the Bellville Park Campus, business people and tourists. Bellvista lodge also offers a shuttle service for groups to and from the airport, fax and photocopying facilities, internet hotspot, daily newspapers, 24-hour security, ample parking, as well as daily laundry and room-cleaning services. The Lodge is a no-smoking zone.
Bellvista Lodge has 39 air-conditioned double rooms, each with DSTV (seven channels), a compact study area, telephone and tea/coffee-making facilities. The Annexe consists of six units, each with one twin and four single rooms on a floor. Each room has a bathroom, study facility, television, telephone and shares a communal lounge.

Bellvista Lodge is within walking distance from the Tyger Valley Centre and the fast-developing Tygerberg business district. It is 20 km from Cape Town, 15km from Cape Town International Airport and 10 km from Century City. The Waterfront, Cape Point, Table Mountain, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch, the Castle, Grand West Casino, the Cape beaches and the City of Cape Town are a few of the many attractions within a radius of 60 km from Bellvista Lodge. As Bellvista Lodge lies on the edge of the metropole, Stellenbosch (35 km), Paarl (40 km) and other towns with their scenic beauty and wine routes are within easy reach.

Participants that prefer not to stay at the Bellvista Lodge Bellville Cape Town may contact Linda Benwell at Millennium XL travel to arrange other accommodation within easy driving distance from the IELOL training venue. Please note that the IELOL will only provide free transport between the Bellvista Lodge Bellville Cape Town and the IELOL training venue.

Transportation To and From the Airport
The Bellvista Lodge Bellville Cape Town provide transport to and from the Cape Town International airport at an additional charge. If participants want to make use of this shuttle please ensure that the request is included when the booking at the hotel is done. Participants that do not want to make use of the hotel shuttle or booked other accommodation are responsible to arrange their own transportation.

Transportation to/from the IELOL Training Venue
The IELOL will provide free transportation from the Bellvista Lodge Bellville Cape Town to the training venue. Participants that did not book at the Bellvista Lodge Bellville Cape Town are responsible for their transportation to the training venue.

Parking and Travel around Cape Town
The parking and transportation options within Cape Town are extensive and include local bus, taxi and shuttles. Rideshare apps such as Uber are also operational in Cape Town and can be a great way to get around the city.
