Program Overview

Welcome, KNUST is proud to partner with TIEC and the OLC to offer the first Regional Colloquy in West Africa, Transforming Educational Futures Through Innovation in West Africa. Leveraging the work completed over the past year and inspired by the collective global needs in the field of online instruction, this colloquy will train and empower educational leaders to:

  • broadly address access to education;
  • design more diverse, inclusive, and equitable digital learning environments;
  • develop sustainable infrastructure for educator training; and
  • support local digital transformation on a global scale.

With the sponsorship of the U.S. Embassy Accra and the support of OLC, TIEC and KNUST have collaboratively worked to elevate KNUST in their quest to become a Center of Excellence in online teaching and learning.

This Regional Colloquy responds to the Integrated Country Strategy by promoting opportunity and development, investing in people through improving learning outcomes (Mission Objective 2.2). Activities contribute to the AU’s 2063 vision of “well educated citizens and skills revolution underpinned by science, technology and innovation” and Ghana’s strategic vision and constitutional requirement of providing free, compulsory universal basic and tertiary education. Finally, it directly aligns with SDG#4, ensuring inclusive quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. Enhanced by broad support from the KNUST Council and the Chancellor and King of Ashanti, this collaboration elaborates a shared vision for establishing KNUST as a Center of Excellence in Ghana and West Africa.
