IELOL Global Regional Colloquies

The IELOL Global program is structured around two major phases, the first of which (i.e. the “Core Program”) asks participants to move through scaffolded leadership development training and the second (i.e. the “Regional Colloquium”) which makes space for participants to contextualize that development locally. The program also features two open and free events where program participants, faculty, and partners will come together with the broader community to dialogue around and collaborate on change work. Below, you will find more information about the Regional Colloquies, including information on how to participate in upcoming gatherings located across the globe:

About the Regional Colloquies

The Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) Global is a unique blended-learning leadership development program sponsored by the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) and in partnership with international collaborators around the world. It serves the development needs of emerging leaders responsible for a variety of online and digital learning initiatives. The two major parts of this program are the Core IELOL Global Program and the Regional Colloquium. Though separate events (with separate costs), they represent two connected and aligned experiences. IELOL Global is designed intentionally around three primary outcomes:

  • Models: Develop and share exemplars of impactful cross-institutional/regional collaboration through global coalitions
  • Communities: Building global communities of practice around transformative and sustainable digital transformation that collect and amplify international perspectives
  • Networks: Curating and disseminating participant-created artifacts, uses cases, and other resources that contribute to connected and aligned global change work

Open to both participants of the IELOL Core program as well as prospective participants of the core program, the Regional Colloquy moves IELOL Global participants from cohort-based programming to highly locally situated programming. This convening features guest speakers and facilitators (chosen and prepared by OLC and our international partners) who will guide program participants in impactful talks related to online and digital learning and leadership development as situated within the international partners’ contexts. The Regional Colloquium also includes a series of collaborative activities where participants will be tasked with picking up the assets developed by the IELOL Global design teams and collaboratively situating them for use within their own local contexts.
